An interesting and disturbing thing we learned at the future of the Web Apps conference in San Fran

There is a business with a business model I don’t like. JigSaw.com. It will make me not want to ever again randomly give out my business card. This company pays people to get business cards. They sell your info. Yep, everything you have on your card is their stock in trade. Let’s vote this company goes out of business.

Boo! Gee you think I could sell business cards? Business in these parts has slowed up a tad. I would pay big bucks for your business card. I wonder if anyone would pay for mine?
JigSaw.com would
They Kinda have a round about way of selling them. Or at least they use to. It’s been awhile since I have visited the site. They basically give you points for every “business card” you input, those points are then redeemable for business cards from thier site. It’s actually a pretty good source for some sales professionals that need to get to the top of the pecking order but can’t get through the gate keeper, to even get the contacts name. Apparently, it’s illegal for them to actually sell the information a business card provides. So they call it trading for points and then make money buy upgrading your account to allow for certain bells and whistles.
