Larry Cragun Mortgage Predictions for 2006

- I predict it will be a flat year for interest rates: The low last year for the Freddie Mac Monthly Average Commitment Rate And Points On 30-Year Fixed-Rate Mortgages was 6.15% for .5% in fees in January. I predict the low will be 6.05 for 1/2% fees in 2007. The high for 2006 was the week of July 18th of 6.81% with a 1/2% loan fee. I predict 2007 will not have rates go that high; the maximum I predict will be 6.55%.
- I predict 3 subprime lenders will be forced into bankruptcy or to be purchased.
- I predict mortgage sales volume will increase by 3% over 2006.
- I predict Lending Tree will see such serious volume decrease that parent company IAC will make a major strategic mortgage acquisition to lift sales.
- I predict Banks will have a strategic win in the battle to enter real estate sales.
